Nokia WAP Server Support

This document describes how to configure a Nokia WAP server v1.0 to let mobile terminals (wireless clients) obtain and install the Entrust WAP Root certificate from the Entrust Web site.

Entrust recommends that you consider hosting the Entrust WAP Root certificate locally to avoid some security issues.

Note This document assumes that mobile terminal access to the Nokia WAP server has already been configured.

Overview

There are two major steps to configure the Nokia WAP server to host the Entrust WAP Root certificate on the Entrust Web site:

  1. Create a traffic mapping to let the Nokia WAP server HTTPManager handle HTTP traffic.

  2. Add a link on one of your server WML pages to access the Entrust WAP Root certificate on the Entrust Web site.

Creating a Traffic Mapping

The HTTP traffic mapping is a default mapping on the Nokia WAP Server. This mapping creation procedure is presented here for reference only. If this mapping does not exist on your Nokia WAP server, continue with this procedure. Otherwise, proceed to the section titled Adding the Entrust root certificate link to your WML page.

  1. Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar and select Programs > Nokia WAP Server > Nokia WAP Server Manager.
  2. Login to the Nokia WAP Server Manager.
    The Server Manager window appears.
  3. Select the Servlets menu from the menu bar.
  4. Select Mappings from the Servlets menu.
    The Servlet Mappings control panel appears. From this window, you can create new traffic mappings for your WAP server.
    By default, all http:// requests are handled by the HTTPManager. The HTTPManager routes requests to the Internet.
  5. Click the Create button.
    The New Mapping dialog box appears.
  6. Type a mapping string into the URL field. For example, http://www.entrust.com/.
  7. Select the servlet that you want to handle the traffic from the Servlet list.
  8. Click the OK button.
    You have just created a new mapping. Any incoming requests to the WAP server that have a prefix matching the URL you just entered are now directed to the servlet you just selected.
    Note To edit a mapping, select an item from the Servlet Mappings window and click the Edit button. The New Mapping dialog box appears. You can now edit the mapping.

Adding the Entrust root certificate link to your WML page

  1. Add a link to the WML page of your choice to enable end-user access to the Entrust WAP Root certificate, hosted at the Entrust Web site (http://www.entrust.com/).

    The following WML card example contains the link to the Entrust WAP Root certificate:

Your Nokia WAP Server is now configured to let mobile terminals (wireless clients) download the Entrust WAP Root certificate.
