This page gives instructions for requesting and Installing the Entrust WAP Certificate on the Motorola WAP Server

Overview

There are three major steps to install a certificate on the Motorola WAP Server

  1. Create a Self-Signed Certificate Request
  2. Request the Certificate from Entrust
  3. Install the Certificate

Create a Self-Signed Certificate Request
  1. Launch "Certificate Key Manager"
    By default, the "Certiciate Key Manager" will be installed at C:\Programs\WapGateway\wtlskm.exe. Double-click on this file name to launch the program.
  2. Enter Key Information
    From the "Start" menu, select "Programs -> WAP Services -> WTLS-KM". The "WTLS Key Manager" panel will appear.

    From the "WTLS Key Manager" panel menu, select "Store -> Create New Key"

    • Select a "Key Name" and enter it here

    • Select a "Key Size" from the drop-down box.

    • Select "Next" to continue

  3. Create your Distinguished Name (DN)
  4. Enter Requestor's Information
  5. Generate the SSCR
Requesting a certificate from Entrust
  1. Click here to purchase an Entrust.net WAP Server Certificate
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen
Installing the Entrust WAP Certificate
  1. From the Certificate Key Manager window, right-click on the key request and select Key > Install Certificate. The Install Certificate dialogue box displays, prompting you to identify the file containing the WTLS Class 2 certificate that was sent to you from Entrust
  2. Select the certificate sent to you by Entrust. Click Open. The certificate will now be installed
