Microsoft IIS 4.0 Support

Common web server management tasks for IIS v4.0 are performed within the Microsoft Management Console. Some tasks require that your web server be restarted to implement changes such as modifications to SSL support.

It is important to familiarize yourself with the process of stopping and starting your web server.

To Start and Stop your web server:

  1. Launch the Microsoft Management Console (MMC)
       Select Start /Programs/ Windows NT.0 Option Pack/ Microsoft Internet Information Server/ Internet Service Manager

  2. Locate and Highlight your web server from the left preview pane.

  3. Select the Start Item icon from the toolbar to start your web server.

  4. Select the Stop Item icon from the toolbar to stop your web server.
