Create a new Key Database

Create a new key database and specify a key database password Use the server's Key Management Utility (IKEYMAN) to create a new key database and specify a password for that key database.

  1. Start IKEYMAN.
  2. Select Key Database File > New.
Type the default name key.kdb or click OK.
Note: If you do not use the default key database name, key.kdb, specify the new name on the KeyFile directive in your configuration file to register the new default key database with the server.
  3. Select the checkbox to stash the password file. When prompted, enter a password and a confirm password for verification. You will now see the message DB-Type: CMS key database file keyfile_database_name Note: You must stash the password file; if you do not, the server will start, but the connection will not be secure.
