How do I configure second-factor authentication to Entrust CMS?

Article Number: 46345

Question:

How do I configure second-factor authentication to Entrust CMS?

Answer:

The Entrust Certificate Management Service (CMS) supports user name and password as primary authentication and second-factor authentication using Entrust IdentityGuard grid, eGrid, or soft token authentication. CMS administrators without second factor authentication have until June 25, 2012 to register for second factor authentication. Administrators who have second factor authentication in the form of Entrust IdentityGuard grid cards may continue to use them or can switch to a soft token if they choose.

Soft Token

Entrust’s soft token is a time-based, one-time-password (OTP) that runs on leading mobile devices (Apple iOS, RIM BlackBerry, Google Android, Microsoft Windows Mobile (6.0-6.5) and Java Phone) and on the desktop with Microsoft Windows. Upon login, users are presented with a numeric challenge and must respond with the 6-digit number appearing on the soft token they possess, which is delivered electronically via the Web. eGrid Card

Entrust's patented eGrid card is a credit card-sized authenticator consisting of numbers and/or characters in a row-column format. Upon login, users are presented with a coordinate challenge and must respond with the information in the corresponding cells from the unique grid card they possess. The eGrid is delivered via the Web as an image or as a password-protected PDF file that can be printed and carried in a wallet, or kept on a desktop or mobile device.
