How is a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) generated on F5 BIG-IP?
Answer
To generate the CSR, complete the following steps:
** Note these steps are based on F5 BIG-IP 9.4.8
- Launch the F5 BIG-IP web GUI.
- On the Main tab, expand Local Traffic.
- Click SSL Certificates. The list of existing certificates displays.
- In the upper right corner of the screen, click Create.
- Under General Properties, supply a name for the certificate. This name will be used in the future to identify this certificate.
- Under Certificate Properties, supply the following information:
- Under Key Properties, select 2048 bits.
- Click Finished at the bottom of the screen.

The text of the Certificate Signing Request is displayed. Copy the entire Request Text to a file or download the Request File to save the CSR.

- Click Finished at the bottom of the screen.

Issuer: Certificate Authority
Common name: Fully Qualified Domain Name of your site (www.mydomain.com)
Division: Name of your division or department
Organization: Legal name of your company or organization
Locality, State or Province, Country: City, state, and country where your organization is located
E-mail Address: Your email
Challenge Password, Confirm Password: Your password
