TN 7600 - Installation of SSL Certificate into SUN ONE webserver

Question

How do I install my SSL certificate into Sun One?

Answer

1. Log into your iPlanet Administration server
2. Select Manged Servers from the Servers tab
3. Choose the same server you used to generate the original CSR and click Manage
4. Click on the Security tab and choose Install Certificate
5. Select the radio button for This Server
6. Type in your Key Pair file password which should be the same as your Trust Database password.
7. Select the radio button for "Message Text (with headers)"
8. Paste your signed public key (web server certificate) into the form and click OK
9. Confirm the certificate and click Add Server Certificate button.
10. Click OK twice

Enabling SSL:

1. Make sure you are configuring your managed server.
2. Go to Preferences and choose Add Listen Socket
3. Fill in your ID, IP, Port, Servername and select ON for Security.
4. Click OK
5. Stop and Start the server.
6. Go to Edit Listen Sockets
7. Verify Port 443 is enabled.
8. Apply Changes
