TN 7593 - Installation of SSL Certificate into Microsoft IIS5 and IIS6

Question

How do install my certificate into Microsoft IIS5 or IIS6?

Answer

 

Open a web browser and go to the URL that appears in the confirmation email you received from Entrust. Your certificates are displayed. The Entrust SSL Certificate is in the tab named "Webserver Certificate".

1. Copy the Entrust SSL Certificate to your clipboard. You must include the "----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----" and "-----END CERTIFICATE-----" lines.
2. Paste the certificate into a text editor such as Notepad, and ensure that the entire text is flushed to the left with no leading or trailing white space.
3. Launch the Microsoft Internet Services Manager:
      Select Start /Programs/ Administrative Tools/ Internet Services Manager
4. Select and right-click your Web site from the left preview pane.
5. Select Properties.
6. Select Server Certificate from the Secure Communications menu.
7. The Web Server Certificate Wizard appears.
8. Select Next.
9. Select Process the pending request and install the certificate.
10. Supply the Path and file name of the file that contains your Entrust SSL Certificate.
11. Select Next
12. Review the Certificate Summary.
13. Select Next
14. Select Finish to complete the certificate installation.

You have just installed your Entrust SSL Certificate. You may safely close the Properties page and enable SSL on secure your Web Server.

Select OK to close the Properties page.
