How is the Server Certificate installed on Microsoft IIS 5 and IIS 6?
Answer:
To install the Server Certificate, complete the following steps:
- Copy and paste the Server Certificate (including the BEGIN and END tags) into a text editor such as Notepad and save it on your server.

- Launch the Internet Services Manager:
Select Start /All Programs/ Administrative Tools/ Internet Information Services - Right-click your Web site from the left preview pane and select Properties.

- Select the Directory Security tab, and click on the Server Certificate button.

- The Certificate Wizard appears. Click Next.
- Select Process the pending request and install the certificate and click Next.

- Browse to the location of your Server Certificate file and click Next.

- Specify SSL port 443 and click Next.

- Review the Certificate Summary, then click Next to install the certificate.

- Click Finish to complete the certificate installation.
Additional Instructions: Microsoft ISA Server
If you are running Microsoft Internet Security Server (ISA), you must export your certificate and private key and install it on the ISA server. You can find instructions here.

If you are running Citrix Secure Gateway for Windows, you must run the Secure Gateway Configuration Wizard to point to the new certificate. You can find instructions here.
