TN 7592 - Installation of SSL Certificate into Lotus Domino R5
QuestionHow do I install my certificate into Lotus Domino R5?
Answer
You must install the Entrust SSL Certificate to provide secure access to your Web server.
- Install the Entrust Certification Authority - L1B Intermediate Certificate (instructions below)
- Install your Entrust SSL Certificate (instructions below)
- Enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) in your Web server (instructions below)
- Open a Web browser and go to http://www.entrust.net/developer/ and click the Download Root Certificates button below the table. This begins the process of downloading the Entrust Certification Authority - L1B Intermediate Certificate.
- Select Personal Use and then click Download Certificates.
- Select the contents of the Base 64 Format text box. This is the Entrust Certification Authority - L1B Intermediate certificate. Copy the certificate to your clipboard. You must include the "----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----" and "----END CERTIFICATE----" lines.
- Open the Server Certificate Administration application on your Domino Web server.
- Select the 3. Install Trusted Root Certificate into Key Ring option.
- Paste the Entrust Certification Authority - L1B Intermediate Certificate into the appropriate text entry field.
- Click the Merge Trusted Root Certificate into Key Ring button.
You have installed the Entrust Certification Authority - L1B Intermediate Certificate.
- Open the confirmation email you received from Entrust.
- Click the link to the certificate retrieval page on the Entrust Web site.
- Select the certificate in the Entrust SSL Certificate section. You must include the "----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----" and "----END CERTIFICATE----" lines, and copy it to the clipboard.
- Open the Server Certificate Administration application on your Domino Web server.
- Select the 4. Install Certificate into Key Ring option.
- Paste the Entrust SSL Certificate into the appropriate text entry field.
- Click the Merge Certificate into Key Ring button.
- Edit the current server document in the Domino Administrator.
- Select the Port tab.
- Type the absolute path name of the key ring file that the server uses in the SSL Key File field.
For example, C:\Lotus\SSL\keyfile.kyr. - Enable the SSL Port Status field in the Web HTTP/HTTPS section.
- Restart the Domino Web server.
