How do I install my SSL certificate into Deerfield Website Pro 3.1?

Answer:

In order to install your SSL certificate into Deerfield Website Pro 3.1, you must complete the following tasks:

Step 1: Update the root certificate
Step 2: Update the intermediate certificate
Step 3: Install the certificate
Step 4: Enable SSL for the Web server

Each task is described in detail below.

Step 1: To update the root certificate

The Entrust.net Certification Authourity (2048) root must be in the trusted roots.

  1. Click the Key Ring tab.
  2. Click Show Trusted Roots.
  3. Go to https://www.entrust.net/downloads/binary/entrust_2048_ca.cer and save the file.
  4. Rename the file from webroot.crt to webroot.pem.
  5. Launch Server Properties and click the Key Ring tab.
  6. Click Show Trusted Roots.
  7. Click Add Trusted Roots.
  8. Search for the webroot.pem file and select.

You have now installed the root certificate.

Step 2: To update the intermediate certificate

The Entrust Certification Authourity - L1C Intermediate must be in the trusted roots.

  1. Click the Key Ring tab.
  2. Click Show Trusted Roots.  
  3. Go to http://www.entrust.net/developer/index.cfm and locate the L1C Cross certificate. Save the file to the server.
  4. Rename the file from webchain.crt to webchain.pem.
  5. Launch the Server Properties and go to the Key Ring tab.
  6. Click Show Trusted Roots.
  7. Click Add Trusted Roots.
  8. Search for the webchain.pem file and select.

You have now installed the Intermediate certificate.


Step 3: To install the certificate

1. Click on the Key Ring tab.
2. Right-click on your pending request, which should have a question mark\line icon on it.

3. Select Attach certificate to key pair.

4. Search for your Servercert.pem file and select. The yellow key turns green if it is a correct match.

5. Click Close and Yes.

6. Stop and start the site.


You have now installed the certificate.

Step 4: To enable SSL for the Web server

By default port 443 is set on the General tab in the Server Properties.

1. On the General tab in the Server Properties, make sure TLS/SSL port 443 is set under Network Settings.
