Why do I receive the "Error:''The name on the security certificate does not match the name of the site'' ?

Article Number: 45586

You may receive the following error when hitting your website from a browser with the correct common name.

This Error occurs because the same ServerName (www.domain.com) parameter is being specified for two or more individual SSL enabled domains and name based virtual hosting is being used in your Apache config file.

If you have two or more SSL enabled domains please make sure that the ServerName specified in the httpd.conf file is specific for each SSL secured domain, as well IP based virtual hosting should be used.

As an example:

<VirtualHost 192.204.135.134:443>
ServerName www.domain.com
DocumentRoot /home/directory/html
SSLEnable
SSLCertificateFile /www.domain.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /www.domain.key
</VirtualHost>

Therefore, each site would need it's own IP address and unique ServerName
