Entrust - the first Certification Authority (CA) in the world to receive the WebTrust for Certification Authorities seal.

WebTrust is a consulting and certification process for Certification Authorities that reduces certain business risks and provides assurance to customers. It also applies to an organization that has established a Certification Authority to increase confidence in the security of a public key infrastructure (PKI).

The WebTrust of Certification Authorities standards assure the following on behalf of the CA:
  • Subscriber and relying party information is properly authenticated, restricted to authorized individuals, and protected from uses not related to the CA's business
  • The continuity of key and certificate life cycle management operations is maintained
  • CA systems development, maintenance, and operation are properly authorized and performed to maintain CA systems integrity

Based on an audit performed by Deloitte & Touche, Entrust complied with all established standards, including the relevant requirements of the Certificate Policy (CP) and Certification Practices Statement (CPS) supporting the CA service, in order to receive the WebTrust for CAs certification. Entrust.net can now display the WebTrust seal, and visitors to our site will have the added assurance that Entrust.net has met the highest industry standards for security and integrity that is expected from a public CA service

"Entrust.net Inc. has clearly set the standard for other Certification Authorities to meet. We salute Entrust.net in this accomplishment of demonstrating their commitment to achieving the highest level of security and controls to meet their clients' and industry expectations."
